Watchdog lifts ban on imports of Belarusian apples from Wednesday

MOSCOW, Jul 23 (PRIME) -- The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Oversight will lift restrictions on imports of apples from Belarus from Wednesday, the watchdog said in a statement on Tuesday.

“The service cancels previous restrictions on imports of apples of Belarusian origin from July 24 under guarantees of the Main State Inspection for Seed Breeding, Quarantine and Plant Protection of the Republic of Belarus,” the service said.

“At the same time, the service plans to send another request to the Eurasian Economic Commission’s Minister Viktor Nazarenko suggesting changes to the legal acts of the commission to ensure development of mechanism to track quarantined products moved between the Eurasian Economic Union member states.”
